Welcome to the Catawba Indian Nation Archives. The Catawba Indian Nation Archives identifies, collects, preserves, and makes accessible historical and cultural materials relating to the Catawba Indian Nation for use by tribal and the community for educational and research purposes. The Catawba Indian Nation Archives is a department within the Catawba Cultural Preservation Project. The mission of the Catawba Cultural Preservation Project is to preserve, promote, protect, and maintain the rich culture and heritage of the Catawba Indian Nation. Therefore, the primary purpose of the Catawba Indian Nation Archives is to collect and preserve the materials relating to the history, language, and culture of the Catawba Indian Nation, and to make the materials available to the public for research and educational purposes.
