Absolom (Epp) Harris (1830-1916) was the husband of Martha Jane Harris. He was one of the finest pipe makers the 19th century ever produced. He liked to ramble and spent time among the Pamunkey in Virginia and the Cherokee in North Carolina. His influence is still felt at Pamunkey. His pipe molds or copies of them are still used by contemporary Catawba potters. His most famous shape was the boot pipe.
